WHL Projects is a UK-wide main contractor specialising in refurbishment, structural works, extensions, and planned maintenance across the commercial, public, and residential sectors. With over 20 years’ combined experience in construction and engineering, we’ve built our reputation on trust, technical excellence, and dependable delivery.
From complex NHS refurbishments to high-spec commercial fit-outs and structural alterations in residential properties, our projects vary in scale and scope, but our standards never change. Every job, whether £10,000 or £10 million, receives the same level of care, planning, and quality control.
What We Do
We provide a full spectrum of building and maintenance services, including:
- Commercial Construction – fit-outs, refurbishments, and structural works for offices, healthcare, and industrial buildings.
- Public Sector Projects – education, NHS, and local authority works, delivered safely and with minimal disruption.
- Residential Structural Works – alterations, underpinning, basements, and selective extensions.
- Planned Maintenance – roofing, façade repairs, and ongoing facilities support for public and private estates.
Our work spans the UK, with the capability and flexibility to manage multiple concurrent projects. We pride ourselves on being large enough to handle major works, yet agile enough to take on smaller, specialist projects that require expertise and attention to detail.
WHL Projects forms part of the WHL Group, alongside Clarke & Watt Building Consultancy and WHL Surveying & Engineering (WHL S&E).
The group evolved naturally from our consultancy and engineering roots. After years of delivering building surveys, structural assessments, and project management for clients across the UK, the opportunity emerged to bring construction delivery in-house — giving clients a single, accountable partner from design through to build.
Today, WHL Projects operates as the group’s main contracting arm, delivering projects under traditional, design-and-build, and framework arrangements. The partnership across our companies means every project benefits from surveying, engineering, and construction expertise under one roof — reducing risk, improving efficiency, and ensuring quality from start to finish.

Our Experience
Our leadership team and senior site managers bring over two decades of hands-on construction experience across multiple sectors. We’ve worked in hospitals, schools, offices, listed buildings, and live residential environments — often under challenging logistical or structural conditions.

Technical assurance is a cornerstone of everything we do.
WHL Projects operates with the professional oversight of our sister company, WHL Surveying & Engineering, which is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
This built-in engineering capability allows us to approach every project with structural understanding — from beam installations and foundation design to façade detailing and roof load calculations.
Our project management team follows best practice aligned with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), ensuring consistency, compliance, and accountability throughout each build.
Safety, Quality & Sustainability
We take safety seriously. Every site is run under robust health, safety, and environmental management systems, with full risk assessments, safe systems of work, and trained, certified operatives.
