Building envelopes engineered for performance, safety and longevity
WHL Projects undertakes the full spectrum of external and façade works, from complete recladding and render replacement to traditional masonry restoration. We deliver projects for commercial, industrial and public-sector clients across the UK where compliance, weather performance and visual impact are equally critical.
Scope of works
Our capability covers every major envelope discipline:
Each project begins with a detailed survey of the existing façade, identifying fire-stopping, thermal and structural deficiencies. We then design coordinated packages with manufacturers to guarantee compatibility across systems.
Following the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and the tightening of Approved Document B, façade safety is paramount. WHL Projects delivers non-combustible A1/A2 systems tested to BS 8414 and compliant with BR 135. Fire barriers, cavity trays and fire-stopping are installed by accredited operatives and verified through photographic QA records.
Thermal upgrades are designed in line with Building Regulations Part L. U-value calculations and condensation risk analyses are carried out during pre-construction to ensure performance targets are achieved without creating cold bridges.
We work with leading manufacturers such as Kingspan, Rockwool, Sika, Sto, Weber, and Marley Eternit. Systems are selected on project merit and client preference—WHL Projects is independent and unbiased. Typical warranties range from 10 to 25 years, with full manufacturer inspection and insurance-backed guarantees available.
Metal cladding and roofing systems are fabricated from aluminium, zinc, or coated steel with polyester or PVDF finishes, providing long-term durability and colour stability.
Façade works demand precise logistics. Our in-house planners coordinate scaffolding, mast-climbers and MEWPs to minimise disruption to building occupants and surrounding areas. We integrate with live-site programmes so internal operations can continue safely. All lifting operations follow LOLER 1998 and BS 7121 standards with Appointed Persons oversight.
Every installation is tracked through an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) referencing the manufacturer’s specification, BS 8414, BS 476 and EN 13501. Sign-offs are required before the scaffold is struck.
WHL Projects operates ISO-aligned quality and environmental systems and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Our sister company, WHL Surveying & Engineering, regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), provides independent verification of design details, load paths and fixings where structural input is required.
We plan façade works around weather, height, and public interface risks. Daily briefings, exclusion zones and environmental controls (dust, runoff, noise) keep our operations compliant with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. All operatives are trained for working at height, PASMA and IPAF.
