Staircase Refurbishment for a School in the Lake District

Project Overview:

WHL Projects undertook the refurbishment of a staircase at a school in the serene surroundings of the Lake District. Recognising the importance of maintaining safety and aesthetics in educational environments, WHL Projects collaborated with the school to refurbish a staircase showing signs of corrosion. The project aimed to address the corrosion issues, enhance safety features, and rejuvenate the appearance of the staircase within a tight timeframe to minimise disruption to the school's activities.

Project Details:

  1. Assessment and Planning: WHL Projects conducted a thorough assessment of the      staircase's condition and identified corrosion as a key concern.Collaborating with the school administration, a detailed plan was developed to refurbish the staircase during the two-week Easter holiday period to ensure minimal disruption.

  2. Corrosion Removal: The staircase was completely sanded down to remove all traces of corrosion. Skilled craftsmen meticulously addressed areas of deterioration, ensuring a smooth and even surface for the refurbishment process.

  3. Surface Preparation and Painting: After thorough surface preparation, the staircase was coated with a durable Hammerite paint throughout. Anti-slip steps and nosings were installed to enhance safety, providing secure footing for students, staff, and visitors.

  4. Spraying Technique: To ensure comprehensive coverage and protection, spraying      techniques were employed for painting the staircase. This method enabled thorough coating of all surfaces, including intricate crevices and edges, to ensure long-lasting protection against corrosion and wear.

  5. Completion and Quality Assurance: The refurbishment work was completed within the      designated timeframe, allowing the school to resume normal operations without disruption. Stringent quality assurance measures were implemented to verify the durability and effectiveness of the refurbishment, ensuring the staircase met safety standards and aesthetic expectations.

Conclusion:

The refurbishment of the staircase by WHL Projects demonstrates a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. By addressing corrosion issues and enhancing safety features, the refurbished staircase not only ensures the well-being of students, staff, and visitors but also contributes to the overall aesthetics of the school environment. WHL Projects' efficient execution of the project within a limited timeframe underscores their dedication to minimising disruption and delivering exceptional results for their clients. The refurbished staircase will serve as a durable and attractive asset for the school for years to come, representing a valuable maintenance investment in the school's infrastructure.
